This elite membership club is named after the Ladies Library Association, who determined that Downers Grove should have its own public library, and took the first step by founding a small reading room above the Farmers and Merchants Bank on the corner of Main and Curtiss. They spent the next 20 years volunteering their time and working to establish a tax-supported library.

As a member of The Ladies Library Association Guild, you will receive a gift from the Downers Grove Public Library Foundation of a set of bookplates and an engraved bookmark. We will place an honor book in the collection in your name, and acknowledge your name on the foundation’s Honor Roll of Donors and the library’s Discoveries newsletter and annual report.
